Gifts to JMU's financial aid initiatives make a difference. Take, for example, Amanda "Mandy" Matherly Stowe ('10), who was helped by JMU donors when times got unexpectedly tough and has been making a difference of her own since. Today, her work helping people with intellectual or developmental disabilities find employment gives them a chance to be productive citizens. Employee Giving Campaign. Giving Back is Moving Forward

Giving back

JMU employees have a strong tradition of giving — volunteering in the community, going above the call of duty to assist JMU students and providing financial support to causes that matter most to them. Madison employees are making a difference. The 2012 Employee Giving Campaign launches Wed., Feb. 1 with a goal to have 35 percent of JMU faculty and staff members to make a gift to JMU by March 2.

A little setback didn't stop some JMU faculty and students from discovering a way to get gold film to stick to plastic, a potentially groundgreaking development for industries from biomedical to computer chip manufacturers. The research environment at JMU had a lot to do with the opportunity to go beyond just finding a method that worked.
